The Cincinnati OTR and Classic Video Club was purging their collection of all reels and I was lucky enough to pick up these tapes. They have excellent audio quality with news, commercials and station ID's! Wow! Life is good! There were six reels with several episodes on each reel. Here is a complete list with clickable links for download.

Please don't play these live from this website. It will use a lot of bandwidth and my hosting provider will complain to me. Instead, be sure to download them then play them locally. In Firefox right-click the link and choose "Save link as" or in Internet Explorer right-click the link and choose "Save target as". If you don't right-click, you might play the file live from this webpage. While listening to the episodes is an enjoyable experience, you'll probably be disappointed when its over to find that you didn't save it and have to download it all over again!

Most of these were from broadcast from WHCU in Ithaca, NY. Some were broadcast from WOR in NY. The listing below shows the source station. All of them have the news at the beginning and all commercials. Some have short blurbs such as public service announcements or short commercials at the end but none have full news at the end.

Each episode is offered in two formats and you might be asking yourself "Which files should I download?" Well, it really depends on what you want them for. If you just want them for general purpose listening, get the MP3 files. They sound great, are widely supported by just about all audio players and they will download the quickest. If you are a purist or a very serious collector, and you want to save bit of download time AND you have a knack for computer stuff, get the Flac files. The Flac files are playable in supported players and they can be decoded back to the original Wave file. You'll need to read up on Flac and learn how to use them if you go this route.
